From The Archives – Schmitty The Weather Dog In Oregon

Written By: Meteorologist Ron Trotta | April 08, 2013

Exactly two years ago, I accompanied Schmitty The Weather Dog to the West Coast to take a driving tour from Oregon to Southern California to visit old friends along the way. Our first stop was for three days at the fabulous Copper Wind Mill Ranch in Eugene, Oregon, home of World Champion Mule Driver  Bill Neel and his wife, Lyn.   This slice of paradise is nestled on the western slope of the Cascade Mountains near the banks of the Willamette River.

The day that Bill, Schmitty The Weather Dog and I did this weather pawcast, we had typical Oregon weather, snow to the north, rain overhead and sunshine in the west. Check out the authentic Mule Driver wardrobe that Bill provided for our opening homage to the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns of the 70s.

Clint Eastwood, eat your heart out!

Schmitty The Weather Dog and I hope to hear from all our weather lovin’ friends out there in the Pacific Northwest.
